John F. Kennedy Junior High School is a part of Notre Dame School along with Blessed Sacrament, St. Pius X and John F. Kennedy High School. Notre Dame School is a Roman Catholic school committed to embracing the Gospel message by educating the mind, heart, and soul of each student. We offer an excellent curriculum to develop the unique potential of each student for service to the local, national, and global communities.
Academics
- Religion, English, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Reading, Social Studies and Science classes are offered.
- Students who qualify in 7 th and 8 th grade are invited to take Spanish and Keyboarding classes for high school credit.
- Our students are given a daily “Enrichment Period” to use for extended reading, remedial work and/or preparation for academic extra-curricular activities.
- Students participate in Unified Arts which include Music, Gym and Art classes.
Extra-Curricular Activities
- Extra-curricular activities include our drama program, Math Counts, Math 24 and the YSU English Festival.
- JFK Junior High School provides the following athletic opportunities for interested students: Boys and Girls Soccer, Basketball and Track, Boys Football and Girls Cheerleading and Volleyball.
- Our athletic facilities include a 850 seat gymnasium for basketball and volleyball, two soccer fields, one baseball and one softball field, two football practice fields, four tennis courts and an eight lane all-weather track.
